Owen Washburn has been designing and leading strategies to help more people contribute to and benefit from economic growth since 2009.

He created Piedmont Strategies in 2023 to support cities and regions, including their leading civic, business, nonprofit, and philanthropic organizations, in advancing equitable and sustainable development through cross-sector collaboration.

Owen provides a customized and comprehensive approach to research and analysis, strategy design and activation, partnership support, and advisory services. He works both independently and by building teams of experts and practitioners working at the forefront of inclusive economic and workforce development, education and career pathways, and community development across the United States.
