Owen Washburn has been designing and leading strategies to help more people contribute to and benefit from economic growth since 2009.

He created Piedmont Strategies in 2023 to support cities and regions — including their leading civic, business, nonprofit, and philanthropic organizations — in advancing equitable and sustainable development through cross-sector collaboration.

Owen provides customized and comprehensive research and analysis, strategy design and activation, partnership support, and advisory services. He works both independently and with teams of experts and practitioners at the forefront of inclusive economic and workforce development across the United States.
